CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS

Your concrete driveway is a big part of the curb appeal of your property and makes a statement in the front of your home.

The right driveway design can also improve the overall value of your home; as it is often the first thing someone will see when they approach your home.
Driveways by Striking Concrete are designed to withstand the test of time and Alberta’s weather. We use DURA-MIX® with 32 MPA, high air content to provide extensive protection against freezing. It allows the concrete to contract without resulting in breakage.

Striking pours driveways at a 4-4.5” concrete depth, with 3/4” base of compacted, road crush and 10 mil rebar at 18” on center. This is to  provide a solid foundation and to help reduce cracking with shifting of the ground and winter cycles. Our driveways are then sealed to protect it from abrasive damage of everyday usage and natural elements.

Let our ACI Certified Concrete Finishers, with over 25 years of experience, help design a driveway that you will love for years to come.

finishes

At Striking Concrete, custom concrete finishes are our specialty. Our professional team will work with you to design a custom finish that is unique, and will add value to your property.
Let us help you create something amazing!

Exposed concrete

Exposed concrete or exposed aggregate, can be compared to a piece of granite or marble in the interior of your home that has been polished. In concrete, the natural and earthly beauty can be seen in the form of decorative aggregate. This is done by exposing the tops of the stone, while the rest remains permanently embedded in the concrete.

stamped concrete

A growing trend in concrete products is stamped concrete. It is a popular option to transform concrete surfaces as it can replicate textures of stone such as slate, flagstone, tile, and brick. There are a lot of steps involved in stamping concrete, and only a short window of time in which to get them done before the material hardens. To do the job successfully, concrete finishers must be experienced, organized, and well prepared for the job.

Broom Finish

A Broom finish is a concrete technique used to create a slip resistant surface. It is not only functional but can also be a form of art. Decorative effects can be created into the concrete by running the broom texture in various directions.
