You have the perfect driveway. Now you need a grand, custom sidewalk to guide your guest to your front door.

A concrete sidewalk will offer a quality entryway with a long service life and can be designed with style in mind.

The main factors in the longevity and beauty of your sidewalk can be found in the quality of construction by Striking Concrete. Even concrete can fail after several years, if poor materials are used and good design and best practices are not performed. With Striking Concrete, your sidewalks will be able to endure years of performance.
Striking Concrete uses DURA-MIX® high quality concrete with 32 MPA, high air content for its sidewalks, and are finished by hand. We pour at a 3.4-4” concrete depth, with 3/4” base of compacted, road crush and 10 mil rebar at 18” on center to provide a solid foundation and to help reduce cracking with shifting of the ground and winter cycles.

Our sidewalks are then sealed to protect it from abrasive damage of everyday usage and natural elements.

Engineered Steel Brackets

For sideways that are poured against foundations, Striking Concrete has engineered concrete support brackets ranging from 3’’ to 8’’ in length to support your structure and provide protection for both structures from the effects of changes in temperature, on the concrete and the soil beneath it.

Broom Finish

A Broom finish is a concrete technique used to create a slip resistant surface. It is not only functional but can also be a form of art. Decorative effects can be created into the concrete by running the broom texture in various directions.

hand finish

The most basic type of concrete finish is the hand finish. This technique creates a smooth surface by the using screeds and steel trowels. Once the concrete has been tooled with a screed, concrete finishers use steel trowel to smooth the surface. A good concrete finisher has learned to prefect this technique, through years of training and experience.

colored concrete

Coloring concrete is a practice that has been used since the early 1950’s. Color for concrete is not a dye or paint. It is a process of adding pigment to traditional gray cement base mix or stained by chemical application. This technique allows finishers to achieve a range of earth toned colors. Finishers must be familiar with integral color, how it works, factors that affect final color, and the methods for fixing colored concrete issues to become an expert in of decorative concrete.
